The 2006 race season is officially underway. Cody Wood #8 is piloting a new
Kawasaki KX65 which he will be using to compete in the 80GP class.
During the qualifier on Sunday, Cody got a good start and was out in the lead, but Kevin McDowell #94
a former OMRRA SV Class Champion was knocking on his back door and looking for an opening. Cody was able to stay out
ahead during the heat race and earned pole position for the main event. While waiting for the main event Cody approached
Kevin and said, "So where are you catching me and where do my lines need improving?" Kevin replied, "I think you know,
but you'll have to wait until after the main event and then I'll let you know." During the main event it was Cody
and Kevin battling it out again, Cody was able to hold onto 1st place and took the checkered flag. Cody certainly has
a weight advantage, however he is a skilled rider as well, which helped him to pull out a win.
Cody is looking forward to hitting the track and turning more laps with Kevin and is encouraged that he will
be challenged and knows he will grow as a rider.
